Description

Bohnanza: Ladies & Gangsters is two games in one! Ladies adds lady beans and baby beans to the mix while Gangsters pits 1 to 2 players against the bean mafia.

Ladies is quite similar to Bohnanza, but lady beans offer greater earnings than gentelment beans within the same bean type; and baby beans yield no earnings at all. When harvesting a field, the beanometer showing on the last bean planted in the field (top-most card) is the one used for determining how much gold you earn for the harvest.

Ladies, originally published in Germany as Ladybohn: Manche mogen's heiss!, features 112 cards, which include reworked distributions of the basic beans from Bohnanza. For example, in Ladies, there are still 6 Garden Beans, but now 4 are male, 1 is female, and 1 is a baby; there are 21 Blue Beans, 11 of which are male, with 5 females and 5 babies. Lady beans have better beanometers than the male beans, so if you harvest a field with a lady on top, its worth is greater. Baby beans have no beanometer at all, meaning that harvesting a field topped by a baby is worthless; however, when a baby is planted in a field, a lady bean already in the field can move up in the field past two cards. So babies move the superior females up where they're needed most.

Ladies supports 3 to 5 players.

Gangsters pits one to two players against the bean mafia. In Gangsters, each player is a bean farmer. He plants beans on his bean fields and harvests and sells them for as many gold coins as he can. At the same time, the players compete against the bean mafia. Each bean mafia boss is a ficticious player with his own bean fields. The goal is to become richer than the other player, as well as, richer than the bean mafia.

Gangsters was originally published in Germany as Al Cabohne. It includes three new bean types, namely Bush Beans, Fava Beans, and Kidney Beans - all of whom have beanometers which do not conform to the usual pattern present in the beanometers of regular Bohnanza beans.

There are also three mob boss beans: Al Cabohne, Don Corlebohne and Joe Bohnano. If you grow the same type of beans as one or more of the mob bosses, you'll have to pay protection beans at the beginning of your turn or harvest them quick before the payment is due.

Gangsters can be played solo or as a two-player game.
