Carcassonne: Abbey & Mayor (expansion 5)

Carcassonne: Abbey & Mayor, the fifth major expansion for Carcassonne, provides players new possibilities for stengthening their influence in the area around Carcassonne.? Now traveling merchants utilize wagons to transport their goods to surrounding cities and monasteries, The cities in the surrounding countryside can increase to a size large enough to elect their own mayors. Simple farmers build barns on their large and wealthy farms and the church tries to strenghten their influence by establishing abbeys.

The 12 new landscape tiles are marked with a small symbol, so that you can easily sort them out after playing with them.

Carcassonne, Abbey & Mayor adds 3 new wooden piece types (mayors, barns and wagons), 6 abbey tiles, and 12 landscape tiles.

The Abbey tiles act as Cloisters but do not have to match adjacent tiles. Abbeys also complete adjacent features when placed.

Mayors can only be placed in cities: their follower strength is determined by the number of pennants in the city.

Barns may be placed only on 4 corners of green field causing players to score fields (and remove their farmers) during the game rather than just at the end.

Wagons are placed on roads, cities, or cloisters, and can move to an adjacent open feature when their current feature is completed.
