Takenoko -In this family board game, you must take care of the Emperor's sacred Giant Panda by growing a bamboo plantation to sate his delicate appetite for crunchy young sprouts.
Takenoko: Long, long ago, the Emperor of China, in a gesture of peace, offered the Emperor of Japan a Giant Panda. You have been entrusted with the delicate task of caring for this politically-important Panda and tending to the Emperor's illustrious bamboo garden.
In Takenoko, you must cultivate plots of land using irrigation and intelligence so that bamboo, the only food that the Panda will eat, grows in abundance. With the help of the Imperial gardener, you'll grow one of the three species of bamboo (Green, Yellow or Pink) to maintain the Emperor's bamboo garden.
You'll to bear with the Panda's uncontrollable appetite for the crunchy, juicy and tender young bamboo sprouts. The player who manages his land plots best, growing the most bamboo while feeding the delicate appetite of the panda, will win the game.
From the Publisher:
The players take the role of courtesans of the Nippon emperor. They take care of his Giant Panda by growing a bamboo plantation.
Their mission: to farm parcels of land, irrigate them, and have green, yellow or pink bamboo grow. In turn, they see what the weather brings and perform two actions from among those offered to them: get a new plot of land or irrigation channel, grow bamboo, feed the panda or draw an objective card.
The game ends when a player has completed 7 to 9 objectives (depending on the number of players). The player who gets the best score by adding the total value of their completed objective wins the game.
